Home Remodeling in Corinth, TX: Where the Lake Cities Meet the Work That Lasts

Most Corinth homes were built between 1993 and 2008. That puts the housing stock exactly at the age where the original finishes are tired but the bones are still good. The Design House has been remodeling North Texas homes since 2008, with in-house countertop fabrication, licensed plumbing, and a design team that knows what Corinth homes are made of.

Benefits of hiring a design-build team for your next renovation project

Corinth Homeowners Have Put Down Roots. Now Let’s Build Something Worth Staying For.

Corinth is a town that earns its keep. The I-35E access, the Lake Dallas ISD schools, the neighborhoods between the lake and the corridor where families actually stay put. Pecan Creek, Corinth Park, Shady Shores Estates, Lake Dallas Highlands are the streets where homeowners reach year 15 or 20 in the same house and decide it’s finally time. If the kitchen still has honey-stained oak cabinets and warm granite from 1998, or the primary bath has a corner garden tub that has been decorative for a decade, the house is ready for a real renovation.

At The Design House, we own more of the process than anyone else in the region. Stonemeyer Granite, our countertop fabrication shop at 1230 Fort Worth Drive in Denton, handles every countertop that comes through our projects. Haltex Plumbing, our sister company, handles every plumbing scope. One team. One point of accountability. No subcontractor finger-pointing.

We have been at 2303 Colorado Boulevard in Denton since 2008. That is 18+ years inside North Texas homes. As a Premier Cambria Dealer with completed specialized fabrication training, one of only seven exclusive Daltile Statements dealers in DFW (2025 Partner of the Year, national award), and a longtime Shaw Flooring Network dealer with our owner serving a second term on the Shaw Dealer Council board, we carry product lines most Corinth showrooms cannot order. You are backed by a 4.8-star rated team with 151+ Google reviews.

What Customers Near Corinth Say

Read Our Customers Testimonials

Our 4.8-star rating across 151+ Google reviews reflects what Corinth, Denton, and Denton County homeowners say once the crew has cleared out and they have lived in the new space for a few months. The aging-in-place scopes especially, the curbless shower conversions and kitchen clearance adjustments, generate the responses we are most proud of, because the changes look beautiful and work exactly the way they were designed to.
Backing all of that is our Good Contractors List membership and its $25,000 guarantee.

Our Client-Focused Remodeling Process

Your initial in-home consultation is always complimentary. One of our designers comes out to your Corinth home, walks the spaces you want to change, takes measurements and photographs, and listens. At this stage we are honest about what the original Corinth Communities construction typically included and where aging-in-place provisions were not installed. If you want grab bar blocking behind an existing shower wall, we will tell you straight whether that requires reopening the tile or whether smarter sequencing exists. Walk-ins are always welcome at 2303 Colorado Boulevard.

Within one week of the walk-through, you receive a written proposal broken out by line item: cabinetry, countertop fabrication through Stonemeyer Granite, licensed plumbing through Haltex Plumbing, demo and disposal, tile, fixtures, electrical, paint, project management. No lump-sum pricing. For aging-in-place scopes the proposal specifies exactly which walls receive blocking, how the linear drain is positioned to support a curbless entry, and how the bench is configured for use.

After deposit, every material selection happens at the showroom. Cabinetry from our KraftMaid vignettes, Cambria slabs ready for in-house fabrication, the full Daltile Statements collection, Shaw flooring, and the plumbing fixture wall. Our design team builds the layout drawings. 3D renderings are included on every turnkey project; for Product Only and Hybrid engagements, renderings are available as a separate fee. The complimentary consultation deposit is credited toward qualifying purchases.

Corinth sits inside City of Denton jurisdiction, so structural, plumbing, and electrical permits all run through the City of Denton building department. On turnkey projects we file applications, schedule inspections, and follow up on corrections. Materials are ordered once permits are in motion.

This is where the work happens. Your dedicated project manager owns the sequence: demo, rough-in plumbing and electrical, cabinet installation, countertop templating and fabrication, tile work, flooring, fixtures, and finishing. Because Stonemeyer Granite and Haltex Plumbing are part of our family of companies, the trades aren’t waiting on each other across different businesses. For trades outside our core scope, such as electrical, framing, drywall, and HVAC on whole-home projects, we partner with licensed specialists we have worked with consistently and who build to our standards. Your project manager is your single point of contact throughout, a real person to call, not a rotating cast of crew members.

Your dedicated project manager owns the build from demo to punch list. Because slab fabrication and licensed plumbing are both in-house, the scheduling conversation between fabricator, plumber, and cabinet installer happens inside one building, not across three businesses. Weekly status updates are standard. For aging-in-place scopes, blocking placement and drain positioning are verified before any tile is set, because the whole point of doing the structural work now is to not reopen the walls in fifteen years.

Beautiful kitchen renovation

Kitchen Remodeling

Corinth kitchen scopes commonly include taking down the wall between kitchen and living room, replacing the builder island with one that seats six comfortably, swapping the original countertop and backsplash, and stepping cabinetry up to a KraftMaid semi-custom line. Comfort-height counters at 36 inches, lever-handle faucets, and under-cabinet task lighting are standard requests at Corinth and we build them in without the kitchen reading as institutional. Most kitchen projects here land in the $25K to $80K range.

Spa master bath with white natural stone tile and soaker tub

Bathroom Remodeling & Aging In Place

TThis is the work we are best known for at Corinth. Curbless shower entries with linear drains. Schluter Kerdi waterproofing carrying a limited lifetime warranty on every turnkey shower we build. Grab bar blocking framed behind the tile so bars can be added at any point later without opening walls. Comfort-height vanities. Lever-handle plumbing fixtures throughout. Large-format Daltile Statements tile that minimizes grout. Bench geometry sized for real use. The aesthetic reads as a finished spa suite; the function carries the home forward for decades.

countertops in a kitchen by stonemeyer granite

Countertops

Slab fabrication runs through our Stonemeyer Granite facility in Denton: Cambria quartz, quartzite, granite, and porcelain options. Templated, cut, and installed by the same crew regardless of how the rest of your project is structured. Standalone countertop replacement is one of our most common Corinth scopes, because the original cabinet layout often works perfectly well and only the surface needs to come out.

Bedroom closet with shelves and cabinet

Closet Renovations

Original Corinth primary closets rarely think about how two adults actually move through a morning routine. Custom build-outs with proper hanging zones, drawer banks, shoe storage at viewable heights, and dedicated lighting are a high-impact project that finishes inside two weeks. Often paired with a primary bath remodel.

3 Great Eco-Friendly Flooring Options For Your Home

Fireplace Refacing

Updating a dated stone or tile surround with current materials and a new mantel. A long-weekend scope that completely resets the focal point of the main living area.

laundry room remodel

Laundry & Utility Room Remodeling

Front-load laundry on pedestals, folding counters at comfort height, lower-cabinet storage that does not require kneeling, dedicated lighting, and licensed water-line and drain work in-house. The high-frequency-use rooms deserve the same design care as the kitchen.

staircase

Staircase Remodeling

Stair replacement with new treads, risers, balusters, and railings runs $15,000 to $30,000. Less common at Corinth because most homes are single-level, but applicable for the residences that include a stair.

Corinth Remodeling FAQ

Robson Ranch kitchens run $8,000 to $130,000+, with most projects landing in the $25K to $80K window. A surface refresh of counter, backsplash, and hardware starts at $8K to $25K. Cabinet refacing with new counters, lighting, and flooring runs $25K to $60K. A full gut with new cabinetry, layout reconfiguration, and integrated appliances reaches $60K to $130K+. Cabinetry tier alone drives 30 to 40 percent of total cost. Call (940) 398-0997 for a real number on your specific home.

Primary bath remodels run $6,000 to $95,000+. A guest bath refresh starts $6K to $18K. A primary bath cabinet refacing with new counters and tile lands $18K to $45K. A full aging-in-place primary suite with curbless shower, grab bar blocking, Schluter Kerdi waterproofing, custom Cambria vanity, and large-format Daltile Statements tile runs $45K to $95K+. The structural provisions that future-proof the room are built in during construction.

Three very different project scopes all live inside the word “remodel” at Lantana, and which one fits depends on what you are actually changing. A Tier 1 surface refresh ($8K-$25K kitchen / $6K-$18K bath) swaps counters to Cambria or quartzite, replaces the backsplash, updates hardware, and refreshes paint while the cabinet boxes and layout stay put. Common when the builder layout works fine but the original Silestone or builder-grade granite has run its course. A Tier 2 refacing project ($25K-$60K kitchen / $18K-$45K bath) adds new cabinet doors and drawer fronts on existing boxes, new Cambria counters, new flooring, and lighting; this is where most Lantana projects land. A Tier 3 full gut and reconfigure ($60K-$130K+ kitchen / $45K-$95K+ bath) moves walls, relocates plumbing, brings in custom or semi-custom cabinetry, full-height tile, and integrated appliances; for aging-in-place primary baths this is the tier where curbless shower, grab bar blocking, bench geometry, and lever-handle fixtures all get built in from the start. Cabinetry tier alone drives 30 to 40 percent of total kitchen cost. A real number for your specific home needs a walk-through.

Three paths, all real. Product Only means you walk our showroom, work with a designer on selections, and buy at trade pricing while your crew handles install (countertop fabrication still runs through our shop regardless). Hybrid means we own the design, countertops, licensed plumbing, and tile; your contractor owns demo, framing, drywall, paint, and electrical. Turnkey means one team and one contract from demo to final walk-through, with 3D renderings included and a limited lifetime warranty on Schluter Kerdi shower waterproofing. At Lantana, the active-adult and aging-in-place scopes tend to land in Turnkey because the structural sequencing matters; standalone countertop swaps and product-only buys are equally common.

Most aging-in-place primary bath rebuilds are Turnkey, because the structural sequencing matters: grab bar blocking has to go in before tile, the curbless drain has to be positioned before the shower pan is built, and the plumber, tile setter, and cabinet installer have to be on the same calendar. That coordination is exactly what Turnkey delivers under one project manager. Hybrid is an option if you already have a trusted GC for the framing and drywall and you want us specifically for the design, the Stonemeyer countertops, the tile work, and the licensed plumbing through Haltex.

Yes, that is exactly what the Product Only path is for. No minimum order. A single slab for a kitchen swap is fine; an ongoing account for a builder sourcing across multiple Denton County projects is also fine. The only piece that stays with us in every case is countertop fabrication, because our fabrication crew templates, cuts, and installs the slab themselves.

Aging-in-place remodeling builds structural and functional provisions into a space so the home continues to support you through any mobility or strength changes over time. Curbless shower entries. Grab bar blocking framed inside the wall during construction (never screwed into drywall later). Lever-handle plumbing throughout. Comfort-height vanities and toilets. Lighting designed for aging eyes, not specified to a builder’s bid sheet. Done well, the work looks like a finished spa suite. The function is simply present.

No, and that is the entire point of doing it during a planned remodel rather than as a retrofit. The perception of “medical” comes from surface-mounted grab bars, plastic shower seats, and mismatched fixtures added years after the fact. When the structural blocking is in the wall from day one, bars can be added later in any style that complements the room. Curbless showers with linear drains read as spa features. Lever-handle plumbing is currently a design trend in upscale construction. Comfort-height counters at 36 inches are standard in custom builds.

Surface refreshes typically run two to four weeks. Cabinet refacing with counter and flooring updates runs four to seven weeks. A full kitchen gut runs eight to fourteen weeks. A full primary bath with aging-in-place integration runs seven to eleven weeks. The schedule depends on cabinetry selection, custom slab fabrication windows at our in-house shop, and City of Denton permit timing.

Yes, for any work that touches structure, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC. Lantana sits inside City of Denton jurisdiction, so permits are issued by the City of Denton building department. We handle the full permit process on Turnkey projects where we serve as your general contractor. On Hybrid projects, your GC typically pulls the structural permit and we coordinate the plumbing permit on our side. Unpermitted work creates title issues at resale and can void homeowner’s insurance.

Yes, and we plan around it explicitly. Many Corinth homeowners take a long trip during the loud demo and tile phase. Others schedule the build around pickleball tournaments, woodworking shop access, or hosting family. We sequence projects around the calendar you tell us about during the consultation. Weekly project updates and same-day communication mean nothing is a surprise.

Wells Fargo home improvement financing is available for Corinth projects. Ask us for current terms during your consultation. Financing is particularly common here when a couple decides to combine a primary bath conversion with a kitchen reconfiguration into one mobilization rather than spread the work over years.

3D renderings are included on every Turnkey project. For Product Only and Hybrid engagements, renderings are available as a separate fee. They are especially useful for Corinth primary bath conversions, where the curbless shower geometry and bench placement benefit from a visual before tile is ordered.

One contract from demo to final walk-through. Full design with 3D renderings included. Cabinetry, in-house countertop fabrication, licensed plumbing, tile installation by our own crew, flooring, electrical coordination, paint, and project management under one PM. The limited lifetime warranty on Schluter Kerdi shower waterproofing applies on every Turnkey shower we build.

Your GC owns the structural side: demo, framing, load-bearing changes, drywall, paint, finish carpentry, and electrical. We own the precision and product side: design, trade-priced material selections, countertop fabrication and install, licensed plumbing rough-in and fixtures, and tile layout and install with our own crew. We coordinate the sequencing between both teams so you are not stuck managing the handoff between contractors.

Absolutely. A significant number of our Corinth homeowners visit six to eighteen months before they break ground. The early visits make the eventual project smoother because the cabinet line, slab direction, and tile collection are already decided when you call us to schedule. Walk-ins are always welcome and no appointment is needed.

Yes, and this is one of our most common standalone scopes at Corinth. The original cabinet boxes are often perfectly functional and only the Silestone or builder granite needs to come out. Cambria, quartzite, granite, and porcelain slab options, all fabricated at Stonemeyer Granite in Denton. Countertop fabrication runs through our shop regardless of which path you are on with the rest of the project. If the swap involves a new sink or faucet, Haltex handles the plumbing on the same schedule.

Both are valid. Bundling is often more efficient because one mobilization, one project manager, and one permit cycle replace three. A kitchen plus primary bath plus flooring is a common Lantana bundle on a Turnkey contract. Financing makes a bundled approach work when the savings on mobilization offset the up-front cost. Single-room scopes also remain entirely reasonable when the rest of the home is in good shape.

Yes, and at Corinth this typically happens when a homeowner discovers their handyman or contractor is not set up to coordinate tile or countertop install. The shift gets papered with a written change order so the new division of work is explicit.

Call (940) 398-0997 or come by 2303 Colorado Boulevard. The initial in-home consultation is always complimentary. We will walk the spaces, listen, and give you an honest read on scope, investment range, and which of the three ways to work with us is the right fit. Within one week of the walk-through you will have a written proposal in hand. From there, you decide.
