It's Important
Daily Care
The most important part of your rug's regular care is vacuuming on a consistent basis. Removing dust and dirt with a vacuum is the surest way to keep it bright, soft, and healthy. If you spot a loose fiber sprouting out, cut it from the base instead of ripping it out, and be sure to do so before you start the vacuum, or it could tangle the beater bar. Doormats placed at entryways can also lessen the amount of dirt tracked onto your rugs.
LIFE HAPPENS
Dealing With Stains
Dry Stains
Dry Stains
To clean up dry stains left by soil, food, or something similar, scoop up as much solid material as you can before blotting the area rug with a damp rag. Don't wipe the stain as that will spread it.
Tough Stains
Tough Stains
For tough stains, blot gently using a paper towel and a gentle, non-abrasive cleaning solution. Start along the edges of the stain and work your way inward so the stain doesn't spread.
Bonus Tips
Bonus Tips
The longer you leave a stain, the deeper it will seep into the fibers, so clean spills as soon as they happen. If you're unsure about your usual cleaning solution, consult your manufacturer's guide.
